My love for crystals and minerals can be traced all the way back to my childhood.

I still remember going to my grandparent's house and finding rocks around their garden. I used to smash them together until they cracked like eggs, revealing the beautiful, softly patterned center. My curiosity immediately peeked and I started gathering them. I was also a very outdoorsy kid and went to camps often. I loved the smell of fresh air and the fun sports and activities, but most of the time you could find me walking around the campgrounds, looking at the floor, searching for rocks to add to my collection. Although most of the rocks I found were dull and grey, they were still special to me. Somehow I figured they had been on this earth longer than I had, and probably had witnessed amazing things. I used to spend hours looking at each and every single one of them, cupping them in my hands, half expecting these rocks to reveal their secrets and tell me their stories. It amazed me so much that I felt compelled to love and admire these little treasures of nature. As I grew up I acquired new knowledge about crystals and minerals, my collection became more sophisticated and my gathering methods better. But there are two things that never changed: my love and admiration for “rocks”, and the intuitive wisdom my 8-year-old repeated to herself almost as a mantra: they are special, they have lived and witnessed another time, they have a story to tell.
